The below link is a comparison between new AMD Quad Core Phenom 9600 and Intel's Core 2 Quad Q6600. As can be seen in the benchmarks Intel outperforms the AMD Phenom in almost everything. So clearly Intel has the superior technology for now.
As shown on this benchmark test AMD Flagship processor lags behind even the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 at stock speeds. But AMD processors are cheaper. That's the only good thing about AMD. Performance wise Core i7 smokes the Phenom.

machan as i think now AMD is also same as Intel.
you can do any day to day work with both of them.we cannoth feel the different.
I too use an AMD machine. But i feel that it performs less in Linux, than an Intel machine. But it may be due to less VGA i have even.
